I read all volumes of Berserk by Kentaro Miura (Vol. 1 to Vol. 41)

I have finished reading all available volumes and chapters of the Manga series Berserk, written by Kentaro Miura. Its first volume was published in 1990 and is still ongoing even after Miura’s death. This has definitely been one of the greatest reading experiences of my life. The plot was to an extremely high level that you can only find in very well-written fantasy such as the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. The artwork is absolutely insane. It is from another universe. I believe Miura has really expanded the possibilities within the genre of Manga to its very limits in a very virtuous and robust way. The artwork was so stunning some panels would require a good 10 to 15 minutes in absolute awe before proceeding to the next page. I first heard of Berserk as a recommendation from a friend, and I will definitely be following all his recommendations from here on. If you want to know, he did recommend I watch the anime Monster and read the manga Vinland Saga next. The

My 5 Favorite Books of 2022

Hello, everybody! If you are reading this, thank you so much for being here. 2022 was a fantastic year when my life changed for the best. After spending 2020 and 2021 in the biggest reading slump of my life, where I read zero books in two years, I decided to bring back reading to my life, as a central activity, given that it is something I have always loved and cherished. My views about literature and reading sent me far away from what initially drove me to read. I just wanted to read for fun when I started, and that’s what I was missing at the university. I felt like I had to read “real literature” and hard books that were not easy to understand without wasting time to have fun with the books I liked. There were so many things in that experience that I had to get over to get back to reading just for fun. After two years in a reading slump, I bought a fe

My Journey as a Reader Continues

I decided to stop saying “hello, everyone,” as I understand absolutely no one reads this blog. Still, the narrator must introduce his voice in a text, so hello, and welcome to my blog. August was the first month where I did not make any updates to this blog since I created it. September was just about to become the second month, but I decided to step forward. My mom left Canada to continue her travels in Portugal at the end of September. Work has gone berserk over the past month, but I still was able to read a lot, even more, when I could finally step out for two weeks of vacation after 3+ years of constant work. Now, with all these readings that I have made, there’s just so much to talk about. I am at the prime of my experience as a reader so far in this lifetime. Above all, one thing that has been making a huge difference for me is getting soundtracks to match what I am reading. Since I started this journey of reading more and more, I have begun selecting ambiance tracks on youtube t
