I finished reading Fourth Wing and...

I hate it! But, I liked it! But I hate it! But it's really cool! But, oh my god! No, don't! But, it's okay, I liked it it. Kinda. I guess.

It was the biggest book on the internet in 2023, so I decided to give it a shot.

First of all, if you don't hate Dain after reading this book, please rethink your actions. There were moments I wanted to physically enter the book and hit him.

I liked Violet, but I know a gentleman who recently begged to disagree with this, and omg what is he? Probably a puppy murderer, and as soon, as fucking soon, as he said that he hated Violet, I started hating her myself. But, I like her.

And Xaden? Don't even get me started. I am ugh, I don't know.

The dragons are great. The flying lion chickens are lame.

The other things (the ones you know I'm talking about if you read the book, but hopefully you don't if you didn't) were really cool. The magic from all the different places was very nice.

The writing was bad, world the building was horrible.

Also, nobody told me it was going to derail into pornography in the clear light of day as I was into my dragon fantasy book having fun thinking about superpowers. I feel somewhat traumatized after this. There was a fucking four pages long kissing moment. Like really people?

The ending killed me! And made me want to keep reading the series, even though it has all the aforementioned problems.

I will give 3 starts because, after all, it was fun to read it. 🤭

I read The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker

The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker My rating: 5 of 5 stars I absolutely love the Hellraiser movie franchise and Clive Barker as an artist, so it was very easy for me to love this book as well. I have recently read Piranesi and have been in awe of books that, although super short, still have such a developed universe. It's the type of book I wish I could write myself someday. The novella was short, and I wish we had more time with the Cenobites. I will definitely be progressing to the comic books to see more of The Order of the Gash! Easy 5 stars. View all my reviews

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna My rating: 4 of 5 stars This book was aimed to be cozy, and it really did a wonderful job. 🤗 I really enjoyed the fantasy and world-building aspect of this book. 🧙🏻‍♀️🧙🏻‍♀️ The romance was notoriously boring, but everything else was a lot of fun. I do have to say that a smut scene in the middle of so much cuteness made me feel a little violated! 😳 This book made me feel like eating scones with cream and jam for the first time in years, which was great. 🍰🍵 Also, this book contains one of the cutest fictional dogs ever! Mika's dog, Circe, is literally described as annoyingly well-behaved!!
