My Journey as a Reader Continues

Image
I decided to stop saying “hello, everyone,” as I understand absolutely no one reads this blog. Still, the narrator must introduce his voice in a text, so hello, and welcome to my blog. August was the first month where I did not make any updates to this blog since I created it. September was just about to become the second month, but I decided to step forward. My mom left Canada to continue her travels in Portugal at the end of September. Work has gone berserk over the past month, but I still was able to read a lot, even more, when I could finally step out for two weeks of vacation after 3+ years of constant work. Now, with all these readings that I have made, there’s just so much to talk about. I am at the prime of my experience as a reader so far in this lifetime. Above all, one thing that has been making a huge difference for me is getting soundtracks to match what I am reading. Since I started this journey of reading more and more, I have begun selecting ambiance tracks on youtube t

Hello everybody, welcome back to my blog. This post is an extension of the Library readings. Basically, as I told you guys in my previous post, I started visiting the Library because my mother started taking English classes there. I got quite a few books the last time I was there, and these are the two latest books I read from this first bunch of books I picked up there. This plan to become a frequent reader and dedicate more to reading started with a simple goal as well. I wanted to ensure that every book I owned in my house was read before buying the next one. I ended up pilling about four new books without reading the ones I already had because I took some time reading the books I got at the Library. But well, now let’s talk a little bit about these books. The Priory of The Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon What a fantastic fantasy book. I chose to read this because I saw booktuber The Book Leo recommend it, and right after that, I stumbled upon it at my local library. The funny thin

Hello readers, and welcome back to my blog. This is the first time I am rewriting a post because I erased everything I did by mistake and the Blogger platform kindly saved exactly when I deleted everything by accident. I was a little upset, not going to lie, but just because this is going to be a long post. I officially and definitively moved back to writing on Google Docs and then putting the text back to blogger. It’s going to be our secret. I have been away for longer than I had in the past. Even though this blog has only started, every time I finish a new post, I have a strong sense of completion that makes it worth it, and makes me feel like I should post regularly — a fictional demand for a reader of fictional books. The reason why I have been away is a noble one. I am having my mom visit me in Canada for the first time. She has been enjoying the city a lot and getting to know the ways of the quiet life in Moncton, New Brunswick. As this is her first time spending a few months in

“What were you before you met me?" "I think I was drowning" "And what are you now?" "Water"   ― Ocean Vuong, On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous   Hello everybody, and welcome back to my blog. Today, I want to share one of the most beautiful books I have ever read and advance a little more on the story of my reading journey. As I mentioned in my previous post, I read Identity by Milan Kundera and Choke by Chuck Palahniuk ; I am looking into reading authors that I am familiar with and have already read before. The idea was that going through previously known writers would be a way to make sure I would finish the book. However, the reason I chose to read this one was a little different. In my first post on this blog, My Journey as a Reader , I mentioned how finding the BookTube and Indie Writer’s community on YouTube, both filled with so many people passionate about reading, did make me feel like literature, and the love

A brief introduction Hello everybody, and welcome back to my blog. As I mentioned in my last post, My Journey as a Reader , I have made reading daily a big deal, I can say it’s now my lifetime goal, and I'm here to share my readings with you. I have already told you guys my story, and I have always been someone who enjoys reading, doing it more or less often, but loving it regardless. One more thing to have in mind, I have always had many books at home, I liked them from a young age, and my mom has always made sure that I would have them available to read. During my time studying Literature at the university, my book collection grew even more. As I also mentioned in my previous post, back in 2019, when I moved from Brazil to Canada, I sold every book I had. I used the money to help with fees, and I immigrated to Canada " bookless ". I realized that having a massive number of books around the house was relatively inefficient; however, nobody told me what to do with the emo
