Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin My rating: 4 of 5 stars This book was pretty hyped on the internet, so I decided to pick it up. It is about two friends who meet in childhood and spend their lives making games together. The book got really dark, really quickly. Even though I was really absorbed in reading through, there were somewhat emotionally heavy moments that needed some processing time. Overall it is an interesting, contemporary story, very well written, even though it did feel like reading a masterpiece, it didn't get to any point where I was so pleased that I'd consider giving it 5 starts. I have finished reading all available volumes and chapters of the Manga series Berserk, written by Kentaro Miura. Its first volume was published in 1990 and is still ongoing even after Miura’s death. This has definitely been one of the greatest reading experiences of my life. The plot was to an extremely high level that you can only find in very well-written fantasy such as the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. The artwork is absolutely insane. It is from another universe. I believe Miura has really expanded the possibilities within the genre of Manga to its very limits in a very virtuous and robust way. The artwork was so stunning some panels would require a good 10 to 15 minutes in absolute awe before proceeding to the next page. I first heard of Berserk as a recommendation from a friend, and I will definitely be following all his recommendations from here on. If you want to know, he did recommend I watch the anime Monster and read the manga Vinland Saga next. The

A Magic Steeped in Poison by Judy I. Lin My rating: 4 of 5 stars I heard about this book a while ago as a book that had a magic system based on tea. I love tea and magic systems, so I had to check it out. There are wonderful descriptions of teas and food. The plot is slightly generic, but the element of tea really makes the book stand out. I will be reading the second book eventually, but plot-wise, I do not feel absolutely compelled to continue. I loved the vibes though, the whole interaction in the kitchens, all the tea and stuff. The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker My rating: 5 of 5 stars I absolutely love the Hellraiser movie franchise and Clive Barker as an artist, so it was very easy for me to love this book as well. I have recently read Piranesi and have been in awe of books that, although super short, still have such a developed universe. It's the type of book I wish I could write myself someday. The novella was short, and I wish we had more time with the Cenobites. I will definitely be progressing to the comic books to see more of The Order of the Gash! Easy 5 stars. View all my reviews

The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski My rating: 4 of 5 stars 4.5 stars. I loved this book way more than I expected. Before reading it, my only experience with The Witcher was watching my boyfriend play the games. I personally never played much, I only started the first one, but it didn't go through. I never considered the amount of humor in this series, which was a spectacular reading experience. Each short story made us more and more familiar with Geralt, and in the end, I couldn't help but want to read the next book in the series. Also, I am interested in playing the games now since I feel familiar with the characters. I ended up reading this one for being recommended as one of the best series of High Fantasy, and as far as book one goes, it stands for it. View all my reviews

Wind/Pinball: Hear the Wind Sing and Pinball, 1973 by Haruki Murakami My rating: 3 of 5 stars These were the first two novels written by Haruki Murakami. I heard about this author on book tube and loved all I heard. I read one of his later books, fell in love with his work, and decided to read his books in publication order. This is clearly a debut novel, it lacks plot and structure but has amazing vibes. It's a real slice-of-life style of fiction where it's just fun to hang around the characters. This is a three and half-starts, I loved the vibes, and I wish I could spend some time drinking beer with the characters in the book. View all my reviews
